flydoc: What about a step-by-step tying description from one of your creations?

 

Off topic: Where are your from and how did you end up here?

Anywho.. I think your flies looks great and i want to tie some of them for myself.

 

I follow this request "Flydoc", it would be nice if you could follow up with a "step by step" of some of your creations Your flies looks great, and i would like to "copy" some of them if you don't mind

So please "Flydoc" let us in on some of your secrets

Her er en av årets slagere, har fått mye fisk på denne i denne sesongen så det må supleres litt i boksen.

 

Dette er min aurivilli klekker, hvilke farger bruker dere andre for å imitere aurivilli i klekkerstadiet?

Den klekkern likte jeg godt Øystein. Aurivilli klekkere lager jeg mørkebrune som orginalen. Skjønner godt at den flua har gitt deg bra med fisk. Kan fort være at jeg må lage et par kopier av det mønstret der...

 

Men skal du lage en eksakt imitasjon av en aurivilli klekker, så må du nok fete den litt opp. Men dette regner jeg med at du selv har sett, i dine nitidige studier av undervannsinsektenes mangfoldige verden ;D

 

Aurivilli nymfene er usedvanlig stuttkjukke. Husker " hemlig klekkern" til Erik Eikre for mange år siden i Hemsila, en fet sak som lurte de vanskelige ørretene i Hemsila hur lett som helst.

Har fått med meg at aurivillii nymfene/klekkerene er feite å brune hehe (kan jo se under vann selv om jeg kun fisker oppå) men jeg har sett flere andre fiskere sværge til lyse klekkere når aurivillien klekker (ingen anelse hvorfor?)

 

Mønsteret er ufatelig effektivt enkelt og raskt å binde så jeg kommer nok ikke til å feite det opp, men kansje det kommer en feit variant også en gang.

Jeg har ett lite spørsmål om CDC døgnflue.

Jeg pleier å bruke 1 CDC fjær til vinge. Men blir det for svakt for har merket att etter att fisken har tatt er vingen ganske ødelagt.

Er det vanlig å bruke to?

I'm another member of musicarenje.com team.

 

Flydoc is great fly tyer, and I don't know where he found inspiration for all of his flies, but each one o is amazing. Also you can notice that each of his fly contains CDC, he likes to use CDC so much that he also puts CDC in sandwich.. of course I'm just jocking, or may be not  : ;D.

 

I'm not so good fly tyer like Flydoc, but sometimes I also ty flies. Usually I ty streamers for pike, largemouth bass, asp... and other warmwater species. I hear that you guys have great waters with monster pikes in Norway. Pike fly fishing is very interesting for me.

På mine større cdc no hackels (14-12) bruker jeg 2 fjær på hver side.

I like this CDC's tyed MP style.

What kind of barbless hook is this on your picture?  Isn't it little on a heavy side like hooks for czech nymphing? We usually use lightweight hooks for CDC flies like TMC 103BL or Varivas S-2000
